…and happy memories

The Edible Paris team does everything to make sure that you’ll  have great memories of the time you spend in the world’s most romantic capital, and of the delicious food we help you discover.

Here’s some of the feedback we’ve received from our international foodies!

A far cry from the crowds…

Dear Rosa,

Just a quick email to thank you for our itinerary. We had a truly wonderful day on Saturday, and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

Your itinerary followed our requests to the letter, from the great people watching at the breakfast cafe to the wonderful traditional bistro meal in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the shops you recommended and came back laden with cheese, macaroons, saucisson, oil etc, ruing the fact that our food shops in London aren’t a patch on Paris! (Whoever thought of vacuum packing pungent cheese for transport in a suitcase was a genius.)

La Cremerie was a wonderful find – the sort of place we would never have discovered, and then would probably have wandered past, but didn’t actually want to leave. Despite the prices, La Grande Epicerie had perhaps the greatest array of food we’d ever seen. They stocked far greater ranges of some English products than we get here… Le Voltaire was the perfect way to wind it all off, with fabulous food and impeccable service. All in all, we saw a side of Paris that was a far cry from the crowds at the Louvre and Eiffel Tower, and can’t wait to visit again.

Paris at its best

Dear Rosa,

At long last I can tell you how we both got on in Paris as per your itinerary. Well, you are superb and we followed it to the letter and it went perfectly – thank you!

Velly restaurant was superb and the food magnificent, varied and market fresh together with being value for money. Fantastic location which we made use of by walking up to the Sacré Coeur that evening after supper. What we loved was to see the fishmongers, boulangerie etc all still open well after 8pm. The French take such pride in their food, even the smallest item.

The Grande Epicerie blew my mind and Fauchon and we had the most wonderful lunch at the Café Du Marché. I could go on and on but you know what you are talking about and because of you we achieved everything we had hoped for and more.

Most of all we had been to Paris before but stayed around the Champs Elysées and were disillusioned to say the least. This time we saw the real Paris and because of you will return very soon. I’ll be in touch….

Thank you again so very much

The best meal of my life so far

Dear Rosa,

I sat down today and had a lovely cup of coffee from the beans my husband and I purchased at the Soluna Cafe in Paris. I realized that I had still not gotten around to sending you a note to thank you for the fabulous food itinerary that you created for me.  We had a wonderful time.

The itinerary that you created for us was the perfect birthday present for my husband.  He was so happy.  We spent a beautiful day wandering around Paris and gobbling up all of the specialties that you recommended.  Our lunch at La Crèmerie was probably the best meal I have ever had in my life — so far.  The owner was helpful, spoke perfect English, and made us feel right at home.

Our dinners on both nights were wonderful and the staffs were friendly and helpful.  We certainly got more than our money’s worth!  We ended up having to split the walk into two days.

I have recommended your service to a number of friends and I will continue to recommend it.  Thank you for helping me make my husband’s birthday present one that he will never forget!

A perfect week in Paris

Dear Rosa,

I just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time in Paris and your itinerary led us to many wonderful meals.  We especially enjoyed walking around in our neighborhood and picking up things from the market and wonderful shops in the area.  And our “date night” at Le Pamphlet was exactly what we were hoping for.  Afaria for our last night celebration was really wonderful.  They accommodated us and even gave us a bigger table away from the hustle and bustle.  Baby spent the evening watching the world go by through the front windows.

We didn’t get to do nearly as much as we wanted, but it was a fabulous vacation anyway.  We hope to go back soon and will certainly recommend your services to our friends!  All of the places you suggested to us was exactly as you said and we learned so much and had the most amazing food for the week.  If only La Boulanger de Monge would deliver to Washington DC…

Thanks again.

Nutella crêpes and other nibbles

Dear Rosa,

I wanted to tell you that we had the most AMAZING time in Paris!  Thank you so much for the itinerary and restaurant recommendations/reservations.  Restaurant du Palais Royal was beautiful and the squid ink risotto with lobster was simply one of the best dinners I have ever had!

We also very much enjoyed dinner at Racines on our last evening in Paris.  The ‘food tour’ as we called it was fabulous!  It was so much fun to go from shop to shop tasting a little of this and a bite of that.  I loved everything so much it’s hard to even pick a favorite!

Nutella crepes were certainly near the top of the list, and we really felt like we fit in when we ordered one in the middle of the Marché de President Wilson completely in French!  Thank you again!  Your service is well worth every penny (euro!) and we will absolutely recommend you to anyone we know that is headed to Paris and will email you the next time we are planning a trip!

Total relaxation

Dear Rosa,

I just had to write and let you know how much my friends and I enjoyed the Edible Paris tour.  You were very generous with your suggestions and we made it to almost all of them over the 2 days.

As you suggested, we found Bread and Roses, just down from our hotel, and ate breakfast there both mornings. The first morning, they were putting out lunch as we were leaving and it looked so delicious that we went back late that afternoon and picked up a smorgasbord of what was left and took it back to the Villa Madame.  Franck brought us wine to the terrace, as well as plates, silverware, and napkins, and we had a leisurely dinner.  It was total relaxation which was perfect since we were really tired from walking all day.

Edible Paris was the highlight of our time in Paris.  Thanks so much.

Praise for a birthday tour

I just wanted to thank you for the tour  – we really enjoyed it, and more importantly Chris had a great time. It made us want to live in Paris and be able to shop in those places every day! The sad thing is we didn’t seem to find the time to go back and buy lots of goodies to come home, so we’ll need to visit again armed with the Gourmet Paris guide.

Also, Les Papilles was superb – lovely atmosphere, we had an extremely tasty pumpkin veloute with chorizo, some fantastic beef (skirt we think, but slow cooked to be meltingly delicious), a blue cheese with a divine prune compote and a kind of apple trifle.  A brilliant start to the weekend and on the list as one of our best meals ever. L’Epigramme was also great, different atmosphere, much more formal but still relaxed. I had scallops which were so good I can’t remember what Chris had, then an amazing soul warming pot au poulet while Chris had lamb with beans followed by cantal cheese.

We also (heroically) went to Le Timbre for lunch on Saturday – the chestnut soup and cochon noir followed by Stichelton (hurrah!) with a lovely Pic Saint Loup was also up there as one of our greatest meals.

Thank you again – we had a brilliant time.

A birthday to remember

Dear Rosa,

Thank you so much, your itinerary was fabulous. I actually ate my way through Paris! My friends and I loved not having decisions to make (except which pastry to choose!), but to leisurely stroll through Paris and take it all in. The evening meal was the weirdest event I’ve yet to experience!!

We all loved the food, but it felt like a ‘show’, not knowing what we would see or taste next. We even took photos! La Famille were great and even recommended where to go locally to finish the evening off.

Rosa you helped me have a truly unforgettable 30th birthday. I will definitely be back!

Thanks again!

The perfect restaurant

Rosa

I thought I’d drop you a quick e-mail to thank you for your restaurant recommendation. The entire experience at Flora was excellent. Just as you said, it was like being entertained in someone’s apartment. The service couldn’t be faulted, and the food was superb. I’m having difficulty in deciding which of the eight courses I enjoyed the most! However, we both managed to polish everything off before we made our way (very slowly) back to the hotel!

I wouldn’t hesitate to use your service again, or to visit Flora on our next visit to Paris.

Paris highlight

Dear Rosa:
We followed your itinerary for our Paris visit during the first week of September and had a wonderful experience. Every place you suggested was terrific, and our lunch at Chez la Vieille was superb. We would never have found the place ourselves, and the cozy atmosphere and delicious rabbit was everything we hoped for.

We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with this trip, and while the entire trip was wonderful our two highlights were dinner at Taillevent and your “food day”.

Thank you again for your assistance.
